CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD
You can change your password from the "Login" page. Enter your username and current password, and before you click "Submit", enter your new password in the box provided. Then click "Submit".
Your password will be changed at that point, and you will have to use the new one on any logins from then on.
CHANGING THE INFORMATION WE HAVE ON FILE ABOUT YOU
You can change information we have on file for you by using settings on the "Login" page.
Enter your user name and password, check the box at the bottom "To change your information on file", then click "Submit".
The page will show the current information we have on file for you. Change only the items you need to, leave the others as is, and click "Submit". Any changes will take effect immediately and remain until changed again (i.e., they will remain even after you end that session).
E-MAIL
When you register, or at any later time using the "Change information" screen, you can enter 1 or 2 e-mail addresses.
We suggest entering one address which is your "regular" office e-mail address, and one which is the e-mail address of some mobile device, like a web-enabled cell phone or pager, a Palm Pilot, etc. (If you do not currently have a "mobile" e-mail address, check with your cell phone or pager providers. Most of the newer pagers and phones have e-mail capability at little or no additional charge.) We will use these addresses to communicate with you on general issues regarding the site, questions, etc., but if you want, we will also use these addresses to notify you when a new job is placed.
The way this works is determined by the "Send to e-mail #1" and "Send to e-mail #2" settings (these are "Yes" and "No" choices which you can set when you register and also when you change your information). A "Yes" on either one means to send notification of a new job to that e-mail, "No" will prevent an e-mail being sent. You can set these at any time before or during a session, to fit with your situation at that time. (For example, if e-mail #1 is your office e-mail and e-mail #2 is your cell phone, and you are leaving the office, you may want to set "Send to e-mail #1?" to "No" and "Send to e-mail #2?" to "Yes", and reset them when you get back.) The e-mail for a job notification will contain enough information to let you decide if the job interests you (pick-up and delivery towns, ready and due times) but as of now you must go to the web site to actually submit a bid.
VIEWING JOBS
You can view jobs you have bid on or jobs you have not bid on. For either one, the first page will show you a grid with summary job information, or will tell you that there are no jobs in that category. Each page has a state setting on top. Initially, the page will show you jobs in the state that you designated as your "default" state when you registered. To see jobs in another state, pick the state from the drop-down list and then click the "SHOW JOBS IN" button. For whatever state you are showing, you will see jobs with a pick-up or delivery or both in that state.
If there are jobs, the leftmost column of the job grid will contain the underlined job number. Click on this number to display a page showing job detail. For "jobs you have not bid on", this detail page is where you will enter your bid. When you enter a bid, the job will be switched to the "jobs you have bid on" category. The grid for this category also shows the underlined job number. Click on this to again go to the detail page, where you can change or withdraw your bid.
Both categories of grids will automatically update every 3 minutes, so if you keep a window open on the "jobs you have not bid on" page, you will automatically see new jobs that have been entered since the last refresh 3 minutes ago.
Jobs will automatically be removed from the site 1 hour after their due time, and may be withdrawn by the shipper at any time.
SUBMITTING BIDS
MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE READY TIME AND DUE TIME ON A JOB BEFORE BIDDING ON IT! If it is ready at 11:00 AM and due by noon you will certainly want to submit a higher bid than if you have all day to do it. Also, the page where you place your bid lets you enter (up to 80 characters) any conditions on the bid (if you need to know within a certain time frame, if you need to ask the shipper a question, etc.) The phone number that shows is the number you gave when you registered; if that number is not correct for this job (you will not be at that number for the shipper to call), make sure you change it to a valid number for this job.
TIMES
Be aware that all times given for a job are the SHIPPER'S local time (a job posted by a shipper in CA will show all Pacific times, one from a NY shipper will show all Eastern times, etc.) The shipper's time zone will be shown at the top of the job detail page.
